Mike Sherman

CRD Lead

Mike has focused his career on helping large industries leverage disruptive new technology.  He is as an investor, company builder and industry leader.  Mike served as a Managing Partner with Chrysalix Venture Capital for 16 years as an active venture capital and angel investor in the early-stage technology venture sector in North America and Europe. He was also the co-founder and CEO of GoFetch, a fintech company conquering affordability in animal health. 

 

Chrysalix is a global venture capital fund with a long history in commercializing step-change innovation for resource intensive industries investing in intelligent systems, energy technology and resource productivity solutions. He led the launch of their RoboValley Innovation Fund leveraging robotics, AI and intelligent systems development in partnership with Fortune 500 companies and leading research institutes including Delft University of Technology, Waterloo University and the Robotics institute of Carnegie Mellon University. 

 

Mike has been an investor and Board Director of prominent Canadian technology companies such as GaN Systems acquired in 2023 by Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), General Fusion, and Minesense. He was an early angel investor in AI and quantum computing companies including D-Wave Systems, and iQBit and was the first angel investor in the robotics company Kindred Systems, acquired in 2020 by Ocado Group PLC (LSE: OCDO). 

 

Mike also served as a member of the Corporate Strategic Planning Team at Starbucks in Seattle, Washington building business alliances into foodservice, grocery, packaged food, airlines and licensed concept partnerships.  Mike holds an HBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is an alumni of the Entrepreneurship Program at Singularity University.
